The handy-sized (80 x 148 x 24 mm) Sweex Portable Media Center (MM120) and the Sweex Portable Media Center 40 GB (MM124) are suitable for holidays, business trips or family visits to view favourite films and photographs or listen to a music collection there and then. Media files can be played back on a television, computer or stereo system, while the menu is operated via the enclosed remote control. The MM120 model comes with an extremely easy-to-build-in 2.5" hard disk case, so that the user himself can determine the storage capacity. The second model comes with a built-in 2.5" hard disk with a capacity of 40 GB which guarantees hours of media entertainment.
When the Sweex Media Centers are connected to a TV, all media files that have been stored are easily accessible thanks to the built-in operating interface with clear menu functions. Once connected to the computer, the Sweex Media Centers play back media files by means of Windows Media Player software, among other things.
The Sweex Media Center with LAN (MM130), the Sweex Media Center with LAN 160 GB (MM131) and the Sweex Media Center with LAN 250 GB (MM132) enable the user to play media files directly from the built-in hard disk on a TV or stereo system, or even without a built-in hard disk via the local network thanks to the UTP connection on these Sweex Media Centers. This latter form of approaching and using media via the local network is called streaming and it works like this: connect one of the above mentioned Sweex Media Centers with LAN to a local network and enjoy all films, music and photographs available on computers that form part of a network. The user benefits from a 10/100 Mbps network connection, making fast stream-playing of large files such as films possible, without loss of quality. Of course these three products are ideal for playing back music - stored on the network or built-in hard disk - on a stereo system. In this case, the television is used as a display. The first model (MM130) has no hard disk, the second (MM131) has a hard disk with a storage capacity of 160 GB, while the third model (MM132) has a 250 GB hard disk.
