Acer has introduced the Liquid E2, a smartphone equipped with a 1.2 GHz qwuad-core processor, 1 GB of memory and 4 GB of storage capacity. The manufacturer has specificially designed the handset for multimedia enthusiasts. The phone has room for two SIM cards and thanks to its integrated HSPA+ connection, allows data to be transferred at up to 42 Mbit/s.
The 4.5-inch IPS-panel offers a 960x540 pixel resolution. The 8 megapixel camera is also suited for recording video in 1080p at 30 fps. Acer states that the Liquid E2 features a dual-speaker system with support for DTS Sound. This should improve the audio while watching video or listening to music.
The phone has dimensions of 131 x 68 x 10 mm, and weighs 140 grams (including its 2000 mAh battery). Other features include 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, an FM-receiver, GPS, Micro-SD card slot, Micro-USB port, accelerometer, e-compass, light sensor, proximity sensor and the Android 4.1 'Jelly Bean' operating system.
Acer's Liquid E2 will be available in the colours Rock Black and Classic White. The single SIM model costs €229 (£192), while the dual SIM version is priced €249 (£209).
