New Cooler Master budget power supplies

By , source: Cooler Master

Cooler Master has introduced three new power supplies. The products are intended for cost-conscious consumers and are called B500, B600 and B700. As the names imply, they offer respective capacities of 500, 600 and 700 watts.

Cooler Master claims a minimum efficiency of 85%. The three PSUs are kept chilled by a 120 mm fan. PWM allows the fans to run slower when the temperature isn't as high. The B500 has 24 amps on its +12V-rail, while the B600 and B700 provide in 47 and 55 amps respectively. The power supplies have various safety features, including short-circuiting and overload protections.

The new PSUs have a non-modular design and feature the following connectors: 20+4-pin, 4+4-pin, two 6+2-pin PEG, six Serial ATA, three molex en a floppy plug. The B700 has four 6+2-pin PEG connectors instead of two. Cooler Master states that the MTBF of these new devices is at least 100,000 hours.

Cooler Master's B500, B600 and B700 have recommended prices of €39.90 (£34), €49.90 (£42), and €59.90 (£51),
