Cooler Master has announced a cubic model in its HAF series of chassis. The case is called HAF-XB and while chassis of similar shape usually have room for just Mini-ITX and Micro-ATX motherboards, this model also supports the ATX form factor. The case has several compartments and total dimensions of 442x330x423 mm.
A regular ATX power supply can be installed in the bottom of the chassis. Its length has to stay within 180 mm. This part of the case also feature a drive cage for up to four 2.5-inch hard disks. The new HAF-XB has two 5.25-inch bays and two hotswap HDD bays, which are compatible with both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives.
In the top compartment, the Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX or ATX motherboard is installed. It can be combined with a graphics card of up to 334 mm in length. CPU-coolers have to stay within a height of'180 mm. Two 120 mm fans (1800 RPM) are pre-installed on the front of the chassis. If preferred, these can be replaced by 140 mm fans. The back of the case has room for one more 120 mm fan, while the top can hold a 200 mm fan. Users of watercooling will be pleased to know that there's room for both a 120 or 240 mm radiator, on respectively the back and the front of the cube. In addition to the I/O switches, the front panel features 2x USB 3.0 and audio connectors.
Cooler Master's HAF-XB has a recommended price of $99 (£63). A release date has not yet been revealed.
