Phanteks has designed the PH-TC90LS, a new CPU cooler with an extra low profile that is to keep a CPU cooled in a compact environment, such as an ITX chassis. The bare heatsink has a height of 27 mm, which increases to 34 mm when the bundled fan is attached. At this height, the cooler is also compatible with SFF chassis, which usually offer only 45 millimetres of room. The heat is spread through the heatsink by means of three heatpipes. Although the heatsink itself is quite a bit larger than the CPU surface, the dimensions of the cooler still stay within the designated zone that Intel uses to mount a cooler.
The 90 mm fan has a PWM controller and ranges in speed between 1000 and 2500 RPM, accompanied by a maximum sound production of 26 dB(A). The PH-TC90LS is compatible with Intel LGA 1155, LGA 1156 and LGA 2011 sockets and comes with a five-year warranty. It has a recommended price of $30 (£18).
