Xigmatek has introduced the Secure III, a docking station which can be used to attach a SATA hard disk to your computer using a USB 3.0 interface. The device is compatible with both 2.5" and 3.5" drives with a capacity of up to 3 TB. It will be available in both black and white versions.

The Secure III combines a glossy and a matte finish and features a single slot in which hard disks and solid-state drives are placed. Internally, it has a SATA 3 Gbit/s connector, which, as expected from such a device, supports hot-swapping. Because of the USB 3.0 interface with which the device connects to a PC, performance will approach the attached drive's maximum speeds.

Xigmatek has fitted its Secure III with an external power adaptor and two status LEDs. As of yet, no pricing information is available, but the German product page suggests that the docking station will be available in Europe shortly.
