Iiyama has outed two new monitors that should combine performance with affordability. The ProLite E2278HD monitors have a 21.5-inch TN panel with LED backlight, resulting in a power consumption of about 20 watts while active.
Both monitors have a Full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution and a dynamic contrast of 5.000.000:1, while the static contrast will be around 1000:1. The 5 ms response time and 250 cd/m2 brightness also seem a dime a dozen, but will still satisfy most users. The monitor has both a DVI and a D-Sub connector.
Two versions of the Iiyama ProLite E2278HD; the E2278HDS-GB1 has speakers, while the E2278HD-GB1 does not. The monitor without the speakers is priced around £106, the other model costs £6 more, for a total of £112.
