Astro Gaming has introduced a new wireless headset. The A50 is intended for a gamer audience that wishes to have decent audio to accompany their games. The headset features an integrated MixAmp 5.8 amplifier with volume buttons and a speech button. The wireless connection uses the 5.8 GHz band, which makes the headset less susceptible to interference from the 2.4 GHz band, which is used by WiFi. The integrated lithium-ion battery lasts the headset up to twelve hours, after which it can be recharged by plugging it in via USB.
The impedance is specified at 48 Ohms, while the sensitivity is 118 dB at a 1 kHz input and a THD of less than 1 percent.
