MSI has entered the market of gaming desktops. The manufacturer has joined forces with Cougar and Hyrican, the result of which is called the 'MSI Hyrican Cougar Military Edition'.
The system is based on an MSI motherboard with Military Class components. MSI has opted for Intel's Ivy Bridge platform, providing options for both Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The configuration for the Z77A-G43 or B75MA-G43 motherboard can be customised entirely by the consumer. The available graphics cards are also from MSI's Military Class series and consist of Nvidia's GTX 550, GTX 560, GTX 670, GTX 680 and the dual-gpu GTX 690 card.
A SATA 6 Gbit/s drive is present for storage, in addition to at least 8 GB of RAM. Apart from the power supply, the chassis is also manufactured by Cougar, which has given it a military appearance with a black and green colour setting. At the time of writing, MSI's Hyrican Cougar Military Edition is only available in Germany, where the entry-level model is priced €799 (£626) and the version with all bells and whistles costs you €1999 (£1565).
