VIA has created a new Pico-ITX motherboard, the VAB-800. As per the specifications of the Pico-ITX form factor, the board is sized 100 x 72 millimetres. VIA's new motherboard is available in two versions, with an 800 MHz or 1 GHz Freescale ARM Cortex-A8 processor. Because the board is suited for operation at extremely high and low temperatures, it can also be used in industrial equipment. VIA reports that the VAB-800 is efficient and will not require any form of active cooling. The images below show that apart from an HDMI connector, D-Sub, LAN and two USB ports are also present. Thanks to its 1 GB of DDR3 SDRAM, HD audio support, SATA port and up to 64 GB of eMMC flash memory, the VAB-800 could also function as an HTPC or small car pc.

As of yet, no details are available regarding price and availability.
