Apart from producing software, Microsoft also creates peripherals, such as keyboards and mice. Every once in a while, the manufacturer launches an interesting product that's worth some attention. Its latest creation is the Wedge Touch mouse, of which the first images have just surfaced. The mouse has a remarkably angled shape that is quite unorthodox.

The minimalistic design and the smaller dimensions may require the mouse to be used differently, something Microsoft has undoubtedly thought of. The concept behind the mouse is that you can't just click with it, as it also registers finger movement. The touch-sensitive surface can be used to give several commands, such as '360 degrees scrolling' through documents and zooming and and out on images.

Microsoft's Wedge mouse connects through Bluetooth. It is designed for use with the new Windows 8 operating system and will be available with a matching Wedge keyboard. The price of this remarkable mouse will be around £50. The German Winfuture mentions a recommended price of £66 for the matching keyboard.
