ASUS debuts two new 27-inch monitors, the VE278N and the VE278H. Both screens use the same 1920x1080 'Full HD' panel, which offers a dynamic contrast of 50 million to one and a brightness of up to 300 cd/m². The VE278N model has VGA and DVI inputs, while the VE278H has VGA and 2x HDMI. This model also has two integrated 3 watt speakers, to play audio from the HDMI signal.

The VE278N model, with the VGA and DVI inputs, has a 5 ms response time, while the VE278H has a claimed response time of only 2 ms. Both monitors have a glossy black casing and a number of buttons to control the settings. A peculiar fact is that the VE278N is bundled with a DVI to VGA cable, which seems out of place given the fact it has both DVI and VGA connectors of its own. The VE278H on the other hand, comes with a VGA to HDMI cable, which seems more logical. The 3D glasses on the product images suggest that this monitor also supports passive 3D.

ASUS provides a Quick Start Guide and three years of warranty with its new creations.
