VideoCardz reports that ASUS will launch a new Radeon HD 7850 graphics card soon. The HD 7850 Dragon Edition bears model number DRAGON HD7850-DC2O-2GD5, and is positioned between the DirectCU II and DirectCU II TOP in terms of performance. The Dragon Edition has its core clocked at 910 MHz, the 2 GB GDDR5 memory has a 5000 MHz speed. The card stands out due to its bundled backplate.
The cooler consists of a construction like the other DirectCU II models and has twin 80 mm fans. ASUS has opted for a single heatsink with heatpipes that are extend beyond the plastic cover. ASUS has modified the PCB and uses a 6+3-phase power design, which is powered by two PEG 6-pin connectors. Apart from DVI-I and DVI-D, the card also has an HDMI and a DisplayPort connector.
ASUS' HD7850 Dragon HD7850-DC2O-2GD5 is already available in China, where it costs $361 USD (£230).
