MSI has added a new all-in-one system to its product line-up. The Wind Top AE2281G has a 22-inch Full HD multi-touch monitor, modern third-generation Core i5 3450S quad-core 'Ivy Bridge' processor and a GeForce GT 630M graphics card with 2 GB of memory. While significantly more powerful than Intel's onboard video chip, the GPU is still too slow to smoothly run modern video games. The all-in-one has 4 GB of DDR3 memory, which can optionally be expanded to 8 GB. A 500 GB 3.5-inch SATA hard disk is present, which can be substituted by a larger model or SSD by the user.
The Wind Top AE2281G has a slimline DVD Super Multi Drive, 6-in-1 card reader and an integrated hybrid TV Tuner. The following connectors are present on the device: USB 2.0 (4x), USB 3.0 (2x), an HDMI output, two 3.5 mm audio jacks and a Gigabit LAN connector. The two USB 3.0 ports feature 'Super Charger' technology, meaning they can be used to charge other devices, such as smartphones. A gaming console or media player can also be attached to the monitor, after which audio is provided by the integrated stereo speakers.
MSI has equipped the all-in-one system with its so-called Military Class II components, which should improve durability. The new system has an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam and VESA mounting holes to mount the device to a wall. MSI's Wind Top AE2281G weighs 9.1 kilograms and has dimensions of 55.5 x 40.45 x 66.5 centimetres. The maximum power consumption is specified at 150 watts.
