Antec, mostly known for its chassis and power supplies, has tapped into a completely different market. The manufacturer has launched a so-called 'HDTV Bias Lighting Kit'. This strip with LED lights can be attached to the back of a monitor or television and provides a white glow on the wall. This principle isn't very revolutionary, Philips has been implementing it in its Ambilight televisions for years and Revoltec, among other manufacturers, has also released similar kits. Despite the competition, Antec sees opportunity for its bar with 22 integrated LEDs.

The HDTV Bias Lighting Kit is to provide lighting with a colour temperature of 6500 Kelvin, which according to Antec, enhances the colour display of your monitor and the overall viewing experience. The strip has a length of 1400 millimetres, making it suited for televisions of up to 60". Owners of smaller monitors can simply cut the strip to make it shorter. The LED strip connects via USB and has an I/O switch for the lights.

Antec's HDTV Bias Lighting Kit has a recommended price of €25 (£20).
