Intel has started updating its graphics chips to support the current Windows 8 Preview version. Drivers for the Intel HD Graphics 4000, 3000, 2500 and 2000 GPUs with integrated support for Windows Display Driver Model 1.2, have been released today. Also added is Stereoscopic 3D support. Screen rotation recognition has been optimised and DirectX 11 support has been added to the HD4000 GPU.

Despite these new features being ready for use, Intel recommends the use of its Windows 7 driver for OpenGL 3.3 applications to ensure stability. The new Windows 8 driver package with version number 15.28.0.64.2770 (9.17.10.2770) can be downloaded from Intel's website (166MB).
