Prolimatech has announced a new CPU cooler, the Black Series Genesis. This new model sets a new standard in cooling capacity and looks, Prolimatech says. Like the 'Megahalems' and 'Super Mega', the Black Series Genesis has a design with two separate heatsinks, connected to the processors by means of heatpipes. The biggest difference is that the heatsinks are positioned perpendicularly to one another, which should benefit the cooling performance. The cooler can be equipped with up to three 120 or 140 mm fans, one of which indirectly cools components around the CPU socket as well.

Prolimatech has improved its mounting mechanism, using new screws that fit tighter, thus resulting in a better contact between the baseplate and the CPU. Prolimatech claims the cooler isn't just meant for users looking for performance, but also for silent operation. With only a single fan, the Black Series Genesis should keep most systems chilled already.

Mounting materials for AMD's sockets AM2(+) and AM3(+) and Intel's LGA 775, 1366, 1155/1156 and 2011 are bundled. Prolimatech also provides 'PK-1' thermal paste and a sturdy backplate. The webshop overclockers.co.uk is the first to feature the CPU-cooler, priced £59.90.
