Swiss manufacturer Arctic has expanded its line of products with the P402, a lightweight headset with large ear cups which should isolate ambient noise. The manufacturer claims that the new headset is intended for a wide range of users, because of its capability to produce a firm bass and a clear treble. A microphone, integrated in the cord of the P402, makes it suitable for phone calls as well.
Arctic's P402 headset combines two large ear cups with a thin headband, limiting the weight to only 130 grams. For added comfort, the ear cushions have 15 mm padding. The headset has a specified range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 101 db (at 1 kHz) sensitivity and a 32 Ω impedance. The microphone is located in the 4 foot long cable, which has an analog 3.5 mm connector on the end. A bundled adaptor makes sure the headset can be connected to a mobile phone using a single connector.
Arctic provides two years of warranty with its P402 headset, as well as the possibility to purchase replacing ear pads. The P402 is available through Arctic's webshop at a price of $49.95 (£32), excluding shipping from Hong Kong.
