Computex: Digitally adjustable Corsair 1200 watt PSU

Corsair has come up with a new feature for power supplies. Instead of analogue regulators, the Corsair AX 1200i uses a digital DSP to control voltages. This makes it possible to display all voltages and adjust them, as well as measure the power and efficiency in the cabling. The software also allows users to switch between single and multi-rail, ending the debate which design is more stable. Furthermore, temperature and fan speeds are also displayed in the software.

Apart from the special digital voltage regulations, the power supply has an extremely efficient design, featuring an 80Plus Platinum certificate. The fan is only used when at least 40 percent of the maximum capacity is required from the PSU, which makes it fully passive during normal operation.

At the time of writing, Corsair has not yet set a release date for its new power supply.
