Razer has designed several products based on popular videogames over the years. The new BlackShark gaming headset is no exception, featuring a Battlefield 3 design. With a black/orange colour scheme, special hinges and the logo on the headband, Razer aims to appeal to the series' enthusiasts.
The headset has noise-cancelling ear cups made of faux leather. These contain two 40 mm neodymium speakers, capable of producing frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 20 KHz. The headset has a 29 Ohm impedance and the sensitivity at 1 KHz is specified at 105 dB(A) ± 3 dB(A). The input power is 50 mW. The microphone has a range of 50 Hz to 16 KHz. The signal-to-noise ratio is 50 dB(A) and the 1 KHz sensitivity is -37 dB(A) ± 4 dB(A).
The 1.3 metre cable has a gilded 3.5 mm jack which serves as a combined connector. The microphone is detachable and the headset is bundled with an audio/microphone splitter cable.
Razer's BlackShark is to launch in July 2012 and has a recommended price of $129.99.
