Sonos has unveiled the SUB, a wireless subwoofer which, according to the manufacturer, offers all the features of a Sonos product: clear, deep and fully digital audio, simple installation and an appealing design. The SUB should be able to fill your entire room with layers of deep, endless sound that should be felt, in addition to being heard.
You can position the SUB wherever you want, plug it in, press a button and follow the directions on your controller application. The SUB then connects wirelessly to your other Sonos components.
The SUB can be controlled with your computer, smartphone or tablet, like every other Sonos product. The required controller-apps for Android, iPad, iPhone, Mac or PC can be downloaded free of charge. The SUB only works with the following Sonos players with integrated amplifier: the CONNECT:AMP, ZonePlayer 120, Zoneplayer 100, PLAY:5 and PLAY3. The SUB does not work with CONNECT, ZP90 or ZP80.
The SUB will be available late June in a high gloss piano black finish for € 699 (£560). A matte black edition of Sonos' SUB will be released in October at a price of € 599 (£480).
