Over the past months, ASUS introduced several O!Play media players, but a version of the O!Play TV Pro without hard disk was not yet available. This is about to change with the O!Play Media Pro. What mainly sets this model apart from the other O!Play media players is the integrated digital DVB-T tuner.

It's unclear which chipset ASUS has used in its new media player and settop box, although it is likely to be the same as the Realtek one used in other O!Play models. The O!Play Media Pro features Gigabit LAN and 802.11n WiFi, has two USB 2.0 connectors, a card reader and optical S/PDIF for audio. An HDMI port and a 3.5-inch jack provide digital and analog video outputs.

ASUS' new O!Play Media Pro is compatible with all common media file types and is capable of streaming from local and internet sources. Content from an Android smartphone or tablet can also be streamed with the device if you install the free O!MediaShare app. Lastly, the media player offers support for the Electronic Program Guide (EPG).

ASUS has not yet released any information regarding price and availability.
