HP has released two new monitors with LED backlighting under its Compaq brand. The Compaq L2206tm is a 21.5-inch model with a Full HD resolution TN panel and multi-touch support. The back features D-Sub and DVI video inputs, in addition to two USB 2.0 connectors. The brightness of the L2206tm is specified at 220 cd/m2, and the static contrast ratio at 1000:1.
The Compaq LA2405x is a 24-inch monitor, also with a Full HD TN panel. In addition to the D-Sub and DVI connectors found on the 21.5-inch model, DisplayPort is also available. The two USB 2.0 are present on this screen as well. Unlike the L2206tm, the LA2405x does not have touchscreen functionality. HP has specified a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5 ms response time and 300 cd/m2 brightness.
Both monitors have viewing angles of 170/160 degrees for horizontal and vertical viewing, respectively. The LA2405x has a recommended price of $269 (£217), while the L2206tm will cost $279 (£225).
