Zalman will launch two new midrange power supplies soon. The two PSUs, named ZM500-ST and ZM600-ST, feature respective capacities of 500 and 600 Watt and are quite similar to the company's RS-series. The ZM600-ST will feature the same recommended price ast he ZM500-RS: US $115. The ZM500-ST is to cost US $99. Zalman claims that this gives them with the best price/performance ratio.
Both supplies live up to the ATX 12V 2.3 specifications and are non-modular. With an efficiency of atleast 80% under a load of 20, 50 and 100 percent, both supplies at 80Plus certified. Two +12V rails deliver up to 18 Amps in the 500 Watt model, and up to 30 for the 600 W version. These values make the 600 Watt version compatible with a multi-GPU setup, supporting both CrossFireX and SLI. The 500 Watt edition only supports CrossFireX.
The cables are sleeved and the components are kept cooled by a 120 mm sleeve bearing fan. The ZM500-ST and ZM600-ST will come with three years of warranty and are to be released shortly.
