Acer expands its Aspire One netbookserie with a model that features a 16 GB Solid State Disk (SSD), 1 GB of memory and a 6-cell battery. The A110X, as it is called, will be Acer's first netbook that combines an SSD with the Windows XP operating system.

The 6-cell battery, in combination with the low power consumption of the SSD, should make the netbook last significantly longer than with the 3-cell battery and 'regular' hard disk. A note though, the battery weighs in about 200 grams, making the entire netbook weigh about 1.2 kilograms. The remaining specifications are identical to those of the other netbooks.

The new A110X netbook will cost around €400,-, making it similar in price to Acer's most expensive Aspire One netbook, the A150-BB.
