Shuttle reports the introduction of a new Mini-PC. This Mini-PC is added to Shuttle's Barebone K48-series and is aimed towards simple applications such as officer, internet and e-mail. The biggest difference between the previous K45 and the new K48 is that the latter has the possibility to add a 5.25" optical drive.

The Mini-PC is based around ntel's 945GC chipset, which, combined with the ICH7 southbridge, supports a single or dualcore processor with a TDP of up to 65 Watt, a maximum 2 GB DDR2 memory and a DVI and VGA output with the ability to run a dual monitor setup. The K48 has a 100 Watt power supply, Gigabit LAN connector and interchangable frontpanel.
